      contribute to society. If I make a difference, even by a small amount,then I will feel like its worth it.

      I really hope I can manage to characterise the compounds I am studying and show that they can be a potential new therapy to help treat bacteria that have become resistant to antimicrobials such as antibiotics. If I manage this and they are shown to be effective in the lab, they can be brought through to pre-clinical and clinical trial stage.
